Setting up a new website. This entire process is entirely new, and so exciting.
There are countless exciting aspects to starting a business and watching it develop. Many are more substantial than creating a website, but this specific opportunity has been extremely gratifying. I remember my “now what” moment after I secured the web hosting and reserved my domain. That was the moment when I could no longer hide from the fact that I didn’t even know the first step to take.
Thankfully, we have abundant resources available to us for learning new things. It’s incredible what people take the time to create and post online, to help others succeed. I’m thrilled at the things I learned, and I look forward to developing more skills in the future.
There is a term in corporate environments – Learn, Do, Teach. I read articles, watched videos, and made a lot of mistakes to learn basic website building. I have blended templates, created content, resized, rearranged, formatted my pages for desktop, tablet and mobile viewing, linked to specific object ID’s within a page, and made minor edits to HTML code. Now it’s time to teach.
If you are interested in building a website, or improving one you currently own, reach out to me if I can be of any assistance. I can recommend a few good plug-ins, send you links to incredible instructional videos, or answer basic questions.
In fact, I could build you a basic website if you’re not interested in learning how, and just want it done. Maybe I should update my Services page…
